Emergency Appointments

At Pont Steffan we set aside emergency surgery time everyday to cater for any dental emergencies that may occur. Priority is given to our own registered patients, but if you are not registered and our own patients do not require the emergency slots for that day, we will endeavour to try and get you seen.

Please note: Emergency appointments for non-registered patients will usually be at short notice, roughly 90 minutes before the appointment is due. This is to allow enough time for our registered patients to call in on the day.

What is a Dental Emergency?

If you need to see a dentist urgently, we will endeavour to get you booked into one our same day emergency slots. We also keep less urgent emergency slots throughout the following weeks, for patients needing to see a dentist sooner than their next appointment; we can book patients into these in advance.

Urgent

Same day appointment

Persistent bleeding after an extraction

Pain not controlled with painkillers

Trauma to the dental arches

Severe toothache

Severe swelling

Less Urgent

Come in soon

Pain controlled with painkillers

Broken/fractured tooth

Loose crown or bridge

Broken or lost filling

Please Note: If you are experiencing rapidly increasing swelling around the throat or eye, we would advise that you go directly to your nearest A&E as soon as possible.

When Should I Call?

Working Hours

It is advised that you call us as early in the day as possible to be able to be seen the same day. This is because our emergency slots for that day can get booked up quickly.

Please Note: Although we are open until 1pm on Saturday's we don't always have a dentist on the premises

Out of Hours

If we are closed, please call us on 01570 422595 and follow the instructions on our answer machine to leave a message with our on call dentist.
